Tottenham are keen on Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin.

The Daily Mail says Tottenham like him and he was also on the scouting sheets for clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal.

He was set for a move to Italy last week but negotiations over Luka Modric's transfer have thrown him into the equation.

Tottenham have also been linked with Ricardo Carvalho but his age is likely to put off Daniel Levy and he is wanted at AC Milan. A straight £30m fee for Modric may be preferable though as Tottenham look to rebuild.
