Fernando Torres says he now feels valued at Chelsea.
Torres has won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup at Chelsea since signing for a British transfer record £50m from Liverpool.
"My decision to come to Chelsea has been vindicated by the medals I have won," said 29-year-old Torres. "Not everything has been as bad as people have said. I am happy for this season and winning trophies with Chelsea, that's what I wanted to do when I joined.
"I am feeling more important than in the past, so I think the future will be even better. When you are involved and you feel you are an important part of the team, you feel much better.
"Sometimes you need to win that feeling in games like the Europa League final, so, hopefully, it can be something to build on.
"My goal against Benfica was my most important, for sure. Scoring in a final is always nice, but, hopefully, the best and most important goal is still to come.
"I still think I can do much better and next season should be even better for me. It's what everybody is expecting, me too."
