The 2-0 loss inflicted by Columbus Crew was not justification for the way Toronto FC played according to coach Preki.
The 2008 MLS Cup winners go the job done at home but left the Toronto coach scratching his head as to where his team went wrong.
"I didn't think the result was fair at all," Preki said. "It's a good start for us, even though the result didn't go for us. There's 29 games to go.
"I felt our group played really hard and it's something that we can build on.
"We didn't get our breaks tonight," he added. "But those things will even up."
