Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote is hoping manager Alan Pardew can add to his squad in the final weeks of the market.
Pardew wants at least one more striker and further defensive cover, and Tiote is equally keen to see reinforcements arrive quickly to give the squad a much-needed boost.
Toon's Ivory Coast midfielder insisted: "Honestly, I think we need some more players in the squad, because we don't have a big squad.
"Now we've got Steven Taylor out for three games and Jonas Gutierrez is injured. It's going to be tough on us because we don't have a big squad. I hope the chairman is going to spend money on the club."
