Tim Steidten is delighted taking charge of West Ham United.

The former Bayer Leverkusen sporting director's appointment was confirmed on Saturday.

He said, “I am extremely proud to be joining West Ham United, at such an exciting time in this Club's incredible history. Building on the Club's recent European success, there is already a fantastic team in place, but also so much ambition – from the Board, the Manager, his staff and the players – to continue succeeding, developing and growing.

"I cannot wait to play a key part in that. Come on you Irons!"

Hammers manager David Moyes also said: “On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to welcome Tim to the West Ham United family. He has a strong track record in elite level football and we're really looking forward to working with him."
