Thiago Alcantara is pushing to make Liverpool's clash with Leicester City on Sunday.

The Liverpool Echo says manager Jurgen Klopp's vague insistence that Thiago is "getting closer" to full fitness will be put to the test when a two-week absence of football is ended with the visit from Leicester City on Sunday, November 22.

That match with the table-topping Foxes is the first of 11 before the end of the calendar year.

It would be an opportune time to for a consistent run of fitness for the £25million signing.

Thiago's Liverpool career is yet to take flight, but a return to full training at the club's new AXA Training Centre next week could at least put him on the runway.
