Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara is happy for Andres Iniesta over his new Barcelona contract.

After months of speculation, Iniesta signed a 'lifetime' deal with Barca last week.

Former Barca midfielder Thiago stated: "The Barcelona initiative is very good.

"He deserves everything, including a statue at Camp Nou. He is part of the heritage of the club and it is very good that he has decided to extend, as has the club choosing to finalise this deal."

Thiago and Iniesta are currently away with the Spain squad together.
