Taylor hails Burnley halftime turnaround

Charlie Taylor says Burnley were determined to produce an improved second-half performance against Watford on Saturday.

The match was goalless at the interval before the Clarets blew away Quique Sanchez Flores' side with three second-half goals to win 3-0.

"First half we dug in, Popey pulled off some great saves and kept the scoreline even, then the second half the lads up top have put the chances away and could have had more maybe," said Taylor to the Lancashire Telegraph.

"We're just delighted with the three points. The clean sheet is great for Popey and the defenders as well.

"We've made Turf a bit of a fortress, our next aim was to pick up points on the road and we've done that."

Taylor admitted that Clarets fans who made the trip south saw two halves at different ends of the spectrum from their side.

He added: "First half, we weren't anywhere near our best.

"You could say we were lucky to get in at 0-0. Second half was just a completely different performance.

"We just felt as though we were waiting for something to happen instead of going out and trying to grab it and make something happen.

"That changed. We got right on the front foot from the first whistle in the second half and it was just two completely different performances."
