Steven Taylor insists he had no doubts he would sign a new deal with Newcastle United this summer.

Spurs and Everton had begun sniffing around with Taylor unsure about his future.

But when the call came to say everything was in place, Taylor could not have been happier.

He admitted: "I have only ever wanted to play for Newcastle but as time went on I was worried I may have to leave. Thankfully everything was sorted out and I'm delighted."
