Former Aston Villa midfielder Ian Taylor says Paul Lambert needs to make experienced signings this summer.
Taylor insisted the lack of players going to the World Cup highlights the need for new blood.
He told the Express & Star: "I think you have to have that blend. I wouldn't say our team is full of young lads, many are coming up to their mid-20s. The fact is they have not had a lot of Premier League experience. The games they have played, it's not many. They need more Premier League games.
"In World Cup year we used to have most of our team go away and now we have two, in the whole squad and they are not English either. It's worrying but hopefully it can be addressed in the coming months."
