Taylor admits Bolton move saved career

Matt Taylor admits moving to Bolton Wanderers has saved his career.

The 27-year-old found his chances limited at Portsmouth and was considering his future when Bolton boss Gary Megson threw him a lifeline in January 2008.

He told the Sunday Mirror: "I am over the moon to be here and this is the happiest I have been in my career.

"Before, a Saturday would come around and I'd be watching a match and not playing. I fell out of love with the game.

"When I was at Portsmouth I was not in the team and I had to do something about that and Gary gave me a way out.

"We are going to take this game as one that we need to take three points from and hopefully get our first home win of the season. We have improved since the start of the season in where we were making errors and these were costing us points.

"Before the Manchester United game we had gone five or six games unbeaten and we need to go on another run like that if we are to climb up the league."
