Tallares president Andres Fassi has no doubts about the quality of Mateo Retegui.

The Tigre striker, on-loan from Boca Juniors, has just been added to Italy's preliminary squad selection for their Euro2024 qualifiers. He is also being linked with AC Milan.

Retegui spent last season on-loan with Tallares and Fassi said, “Retegui is a very talented player, in recent years he has been one of the best young players in Argentine football. We had the opportunity to have him on a dry loan from Boca for one season. He has had an incredible growth, now he's the top scorer in the league.

“He can play in the Italian national team without any problems, he has all the skills to do it. Argentina , in his position, has many important players and it's difficult to find space when you're up against Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez.
