Taarabt: First days at Spurs scary

Tottenham youngster Adel Taarabt has targeted an impact on the first team after completing a permanent transfer last week.

The 18-year-old Frenchman arrived at White Hart Lane on loan from Lens in January and made two substitute appearances for Martin Jol's side - at West Ham United and Chelsea - in the closing weeks of the season.

"When I first arrived here I was kind of scared of the experience but now I feel very settled," he told the club's official website.

"The club is lovely and very family-orientated and obviously that has helped me as well.

"I have also learnt some English which is good and want to improve next year even more.

"My first six months have gone well. I am very happy. I came on twice against West Ham and Chelsea and I was a sub in the UEFA Cup as well.

"I hope next year will be even better. I love being in England and being with Spurs and I hope that the fans will get to see more of me next season and in years to come. I hope they like what they see."
