Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai admits he did hesitate when the Reds came calling in the summer.
The Hungary international left RB Leipzig in the summer for Anfield.
“To be honest, I was thinking, 'Is it the right timing?' This was the only thing I was thinking of. Not [if it was] the right choice, the right timing," he recalled to Football Focus.
“Am I ready to come to the Premier League and play for Liverpool? And I said to myself, 'Always when something big comes you never know you are ready, [so] you have to try.'
“And if I don't try, it will always be in my mind why I didn't go. So I just said, 'Let's do it, let's see, I'm going to be ready.'"
Szoboszlai also said: “A lot of players left from midfield and I didn't look at this like, 'Ah, it's going to be hard'. No, let's just do it.
“It's a motivation, let's show [what we can do]. We are good football players, so if we know each other, with time it's going to be even better."
