Sydney play down Colosimo’s Melbourne Heart link
Sydney FC today released a statement indicating that star defender Simon Colosimo had not signed with Melbourne Heart.
Reports suggested that the 30-year old was almost signed and sealed to become a Heart player next season but the Sky Blues have scuppered those rumours with Colosimo saying he has not signed anything.
“I have not signed a contract with Melbourne Heart. I have put all contract talk on hold until the end of the season,” the statement read.
“My focus is firmly on the field and I am really enjoying my football at Sydney FC and am aiming to win a championship with the club. At this time of year there’s often discussion around contracts, but my focus will be squarely on football and I won’t be commenting on any further contract speculation.”
