LA Galaxy superstar David Beckham was a wanted man when the 2010 Major League Soccer season was wrapping up about a month ago.

The Daily Telegraph's Sport Confidential has revealed that reigning A-League champions Sydney FC made a loan offer for the 35-year old not long before he and his Galaxy teammates were in Australia for their exhibition match with Newcastle Jets.

The report suggests that Beckham was indeed interested but admitted the timing of the offer was not ideal. It was widely tipped that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder would again go out on loan during the MLS off-season but he has since revealed that he will be reporting back to Galaxy pre-season training when it kicks off next year.
