Sydney FC star Simon Colosimo is on the verge of a return to action after being sidelined with injury. Colosimo had groin surgery three months ago and his road to recovery has been successful although he is not expected back immediately.

"The recovery has been pretty good," said Colosimo.

"It's a long process, but the plan all along has been to come back permanently with little chance of breaking down again. Hopefully I can be playing again in three to four weeks.

"I've just begun doing some passing training and hope to be back training with the squad in a couple of week's time," he said.

"I'm not going to risk coming back early though."
