Sydney coach Kosmina positive after first defeat

Sydney FC experienced their first defeat of the 2008/2009 A-League season on the weekend but coach John Kosmina is remaining positive. He believes that having the loss after a run of great form will hold his players in good stead for the remainder of the season. "We'll be better off for having that loss," Kosmina said. "You need to have battles week in week out to become battle hardened and we haven't got to that stage yet, last week would have taught us a lesson in that regard. The 2-1 loss to the Wellington Phoenix on the weekend may have been seen as a surprise by many A-League onlookers but as Kosmina knows; unless you play a full 90 minutes then anything can happen. "We played well," he added. "(But) we've got to make sure that we maintain concentration and focus for a bit longer than we did on the weekend. We get a lead we've got to go on with it," This week, the Sky Blues host the Queensland Roar who have come off an enormous away win in Melbourne and Kosmina will not be taking them lightly. "Queensland will be a tough game, they're a running side, they're the quickest side all over the park in the league. "We're back at home, we're comfortable here, so it's just another week where we have to go and try and play good football."
