The Swedish Football Association's general secretary Andrea Möllerberg has confirmed talks with former Chelsea manager Graham Potter.
Potter was approached about succeeding Janne Andersson as Sweden manager with the veteran now stepping down.
But Mollerberg has now confirmed: "My assessment is that he has a lot of other interesting and exciting assignments (which are current) and will prioritize that instead of becoming the national team coach.
"He has informed us."
But Möllerberg said at the same time to Fotbollskanalen that the association did not ask the direct question to Potter.
"Although we have not been in contact with him, we know that he is interested in continuing a coaching career in Europe.
