Swansea yet to accept Newcastle offer for Taylor

Swansea City fullback Neil Taylor is expected to move to Newcastle United this week.

The Western Mail says Swansea are yet to officially accept or reject the Toon's £1m offer for the highly-rated 22-year-old. But Taylor is understood to have already held talks on Tyneside, with Newcastle official sources claiming only formalities are left to be tied up.

Taylor is understood to have been offered a five-year-deal at St James' with a huge hike in wages compared to his current Swans salary.

And although the £1m offered by Toon boss Alan Pardew only triggered a clause to speak rather than a guaranteed transfer, Swans chief Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he does not want to hold on to any player that is considering a future away from the Liberty.
