Swansea sign young gun Donnelly from Cliftonville

Swansea City have announced the signing of Northern Ireland youngster Rory Donnelly.

The 19-year old striker has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Swans, joining from Cliftonville, where he has netted 13 goals in 19 appearances this term.

Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed the signing on the club's official website.

"We are delighted to be able to attract one of Northern Ireland's biggest talents,'' he said.

"I am really looking forward to helping Rory fulfill his potential and, hopefully, over the next few years ensure that Swansea City has another exciting young player blossoming at the club.''

Donnelly added: "Everything has happened so quickly that I still can't quite believe it. It's a dream come true.

"I was really impressed with what the manager had to say when I met him. He couldn't have done anything more to impress me.

"He has shown a lot of faith in me and, hopefully, in time I can repay him with plenty of goals.''
