Swansea set for £110m American takeover

American businessmen Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan are set to become the new majority owners of Swansea City Football Club.

Reports suggest that a £110million deal has been agreed after a lengthy 12 months of negotiations and all parties involved are set to put pen to paper.

Levien is the former CEO of NBA franchise Memphis Grizzlies and current owner of MLS club DC United while Kaplan has been a minority owner of the Grizzlies.

The pair are due in London to undergo the Premier League's 'owners and directors' test and could become 60% shareholders by June 10.

It is understood that Levien and Kaplan will invest up to £50m in the Liberty Stadium as well as the Welsh club's training facilities while there is expected to be investment in Francesco Guidolin's playing squad.
