Swansea prepared to lose Gomis to Sunderland in exchange for Defoe

Swansea City are eyeing a swap deal involving their frontman Bafetimbi Gomis and Sunderland striker Jermaine Defoe, according to the Sunderland Echo.

Both sides are involved in a relegation battle this season and are desperately searching for a striker in the January transfer market.

Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce recently insisted that a January exit for Defoe is out of the question indicating that a potential player exchange for Swans attacker Gomis may be out of the question.

Nevertheless, the rumours are circling regarding Frenchman Gomis and English veteran Defoe who has scored nine goals in 17 appearances for the Black Cats this season.
