Swansea playmaker Britton has no West Ham grudge

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton is looking forward to facing West Ham United.

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton is looking forward to facing West Ham United.

The Swansea star became football’s most expensive 16-year-old when West Ham paid Arsenal £400,000 for him in 1998. But he never played a single first-team game at Upton Park.

Britton has never held a grudge against the Hammers for releasing him.

“They paid a bit of money for me, but in the end, I wasn’t good enough,” he said.
