Swansea keeper Vorm desperate to retain Rodgers at the helm

Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm feels it is vital for the club to hold onto manager Brendan Rodgers if they want to continue progressing.

The 11th-placed Welsh club have taken to the Premier League with relative ease under Rodgers, who is being linked with the Tottenham job if Harry Redknapp takes the England role, and Vorm believes he is the man to keep pushing the Swans forward.

"Spurs are also a team who like to play good football and for me, Brendan Rodgers is the best manager to show what can be achieved by playing that way, even with a smaller club," he told the South Wales Evening Post.

"I think there are teams who are quite jealous of us.

"Spurs are a big club and if Redknapp goes they could look at Brendan. But I hope he stays and he's signed a new deal until 2015.

"He's very important for us and I don't want him to go."
