Swansea great Curtis: I know Potter will be resounding Chelsea success

Swansea City great Alan Curtis is backing Graham Potter for success with Chelsea.

Potter left his job with Brighton for Chelsea today.

Curtis, who worked alongside Potter at Swansea, is confident that he will be a success at Stamford Bridge just like he has proved to be at both of his previous clubs in England.

"I think everyone can see that they're going to get a first class manager and he's an excellent coach, good communicator," Curtis told Sky Sports.

"The proof in the pudding is that he produces teams that play great, attractive football. With Brighton they're winning games as well so it's a great combination.

"Going into Chelsea, it's a much more different and more challenging job than when he was at Swansea and when he was at Brighton - dealing with different individuals and dealing with such a massive club.

"But he will want to do things his own way. In terms of recruitment, he will identify players.

"They have a hugely talented squad anyway and I'm sure if and when he does take the job then he can't wait to get his teeth into the players.

"Certainly from our point of view, the players weren't sceptical, from his first meeting, from his first training session they were right behind him.

"There was a feeling that the players got better and better. There's nothing better for a player than if your game is being improved all the time and you're being challenged.

"I have no doubt that if he goes to Chelsea he will be a resounding success."
