Swansea given boost as Fer wins red-card appeal

The FA have accepted Swansea's appeal to have Leroy Fer's red-card rescinded.

Fer was sent off during the Swans FA Cup tie with Wolves for a foul on Helder Costa, which referee Anthony Taylor deemed to be violent conduct.

The three game ban handed to the Dutchman has now been cleared. 25-year-old Fer will now be free to face Newcastle on Saturday.

"Leroy Fer will be available for Swansea's next three games after an independent regulatory commission accepted that he was wrongly dismissed for violent conduct against Wolves on Saturday January 6," an FA spokesperson said.
