Swansea City boss Gary Monk was surprised by Liverpool's sacking of Brendan Rodgers.
While his job would appear to be under no threat at all, Monk believes the rapid demise of ex-Swansea coach Rodgers at Anfield just shows how quickly things can change.
Monk said: "What happened to Brendan has rammed home how precarious this job is.
"I knew it when I started. I remember being told that you are often only working to an eight-game period.
"If you lose those eight games it is highly likely someone will have their finger on the trigger.
"You always hope you will have more of a grace period than that but any team that has a real bad run over eight or ten games are under massive pressure."
