Swansea aim to beat Bristol City for Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer

Swansea City are moving to beat Bristol City to the signing of Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer.

The Daily Mail says Swans hope the presence of head coach Steve Cooper can be the key to landing Palmer ahead of their Championship rivals Bristol City.

The England Under-17 World Cup-winning boss knows Three Lions youth international Palmer well from his time at the Football Association and has strong links with the Blues.

Palmer is keen to find a permanent home after six loan spells with five different clubs and Chelsea are willing to accept an offer of around £3.5million.

But with Swansea feeling the strain of the financial impact of Premier League relegation two seasons ago, they are only in a position to make a loan offer with an option to buy at the end of the season.
