Suwon Bluewings come from a goal down to defeat Shanghai Shenhua

Suwon Bluewings have pulled off a brilliant win in the Asian Champions League, coming from a goal down to edge out Shanghai Shenhua.

In an action-filled encounter, Shanghai's Yanko Valkanov opened the scoring in the 12th minute from close range after a header from Vyacheslav Hleb but the goal was cancelled out five minutes before the break when Lee Sang-ho found the back of the net.

It took just four minutes for Suwon to take the lead, thanks to a superb piece of play from Bae Ki-jong who strode past two defenders and put the ball past Qui Sehngjiong in the Shanghai goal.

The second half was full of action with Suwon hitting the post twice and the referee awarding a penalty to Shanghai in 77th minute when he deemed that Yang Sang-min bought down Hleb in the box.

The ensuing spot-kick taken by Hernan Barcos was saved brilliantly by Park Ho-jin and then to add to the excitement, Suwon were reduced to ten men in the 84th minute when Lei Weifeng was sent off.

However, the home side managed to hold on and record a dramatic victory.
