Sunderland fullback Phil Bardsley says Kiko Macheda could be the spark that fires Manchester United to the Quintuple. The former United defender said: "I am not sure he meant his goal but you have to be in the right place at the right time. He was there and that is what matters.
"Fair play to him he has come on in the last two games and laid his marker down. It is great to see young players coming through at United and being given a chance.
"The manager keeps producing player after player and team after team. You wonder how he is going to do it but he does and it is great to see.
"Credit to Sir Alex for showing faith in the likes of Macheda and giving him his opportunity. I am not sure every manager in Europe would do it but it goes to show what a great manager he is. He has got his rewards.
"Macheda gives United something different. Young lads go on and don't give a damn to be quite honest. They don't have any fear.
"They put themselves about and if they get tackled or something doesn't come off they just dust themselves off and get on with it. He could do it on any stage. I am sure there are more goals and chances to come from him."
