Sunderland have informed Phil Bardsley to find himself a new club.

The People says Paolo Di Canio's strict regime is in full force and the Sunderland boss met director of football Roberto De Fanti in London on Thursday to discuss the club's direction.

During talks it was decided that Bardsley - who was pictured laying on the floor of a casino covered in £50 notes two weeks ago - has no future with the Black Cats.

And the 27-year-old Scotland defender and his representatives have now been made aware that he will need to find a new club over the summer.
