Abel Hernandez has declared he wants to stay with relegated Palermo.

The Uruguay striker has been linked with Sunderland.

"I read so many messages of affection from Palermo fans after my goals," wrote Abel Hernandez on the official Palermo website.

"I wanted to truly thank them for their support, as they continue to be very close to me, as they always have been.

"I too hope to contribute to Palermo's great revival."
