Skysports.com claims Matt Kilgallon has agreed a deal to join Sunderland. The Sheffield United defender is understood to have undergone a medical at Sunderland after the two clubs agreed a fee for his services.

Kilgallon is now thought to have agreed terms and is poised to put pen-to-paper on a deal with the Black Cats.

The 26-year-old's contract at Bramall Lane was due to expire in the summer and United have decided to cash in on him rather than risk losing him for nothing.
