Sunderland striker Martyn Waghorn was delighted to kickoff his loan at Leicester City with an opening day victory.

Waghorn, who had a spell at Charlton last season, said: "I want to play as many games and score as many goals as I can.

"Charlton were struggling at the bottom and everyone was so low. It was depressing and everyone was nervous.

"Everyone is really happy at Leicester and can't wait to play. It is nice to come to a club who are on the up."
