Sunderland loan striker Nicklas Bendtner admits he felt like "rubbish" at Arsenal.

The 23-year-old was used sparingly by Arsene Wenger towards the end of his time with Arsenal but he has made eight appearances for Sunderland and scored two goals.

He said: "It has been nice to be at a club where you feel wanted. You just have to try and make the most of that.

"It is not nice to be not playing and it just gets you down basically. You are not happy unless you are playing week in, week out.

"It does not matter where you are and what league you are playing - you want to be playing. You do not want to be stuck.

"There is not much more to say. If you are not playing, everything else in your life is rubbish."
