Sunderland are again being linked with Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

The Sunderland Echo says the chances of landing the Belgian international are remote to say the least given Sunderland's financial situation, with reports suggesting United are open to offers for the 29-year-old but only on a permanent deal.

Reports in the national press suggest Manchester United would be willing to do business for around £20million but the fee coupled with his wages mean it would be a non-starter for the Black Cats.

West Ham United have also been credited with an interest.
