Sunderland retain long term hospitality provider

Sunderland have reached a long-term agreement with Centerplate to remain as their matchday hospitality provider, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. As part of the new deal, the food service offerings and areas inside the Stadium of Light ground will be enhanced, along with the upper concourse.

The hospitality provider has also named the stadium as a 'Centre of Excellence', which will see the ground used for staff training, the development of new food and drink concepts, and beta-testing of new technologies and equipment.

Centerplate's recently established 'Hospitality Solutions Group' will lead planning for the new 'Centre of Excellence' designation.

Financial details of the contract extension have not been disclosed.

"As a club, we are always looking at new innovative ways of improving the experience of every fan or visitor that comes to the Stadium of Light, and through this partnership we will look to further develop our public catering offering and look forward to the future and continuing working with Centerplate," said Gary Hutchinson, commercial director at Sunderland AFC.

Centerplate has provided matchday catering at Sunderland's Stadium of Light since the ground opened in 1997.
