Sunderland moving for Bournemouth midfielder Max Gradel

Sunderland are moving for Bournemouth midfielder Max Gradel.

The Sun says Sunderland will make a fresh attempt to sign Gradel after having a loan bid knocked back.

The Black Cats wanted Gradel, 29, on a season-long loan with the option to buy for £2.5million – but the Cherries are after a straight permanent deal.

So Sunderland boss Simon Grayson is now weighing up his next move to land the winger he signed when he was in charge of Leeds in 2010.

Gradel is desperate to leave Bournemouth having fallen down Eddie Howe's pecking order since penning a new four-year deal last summer.
