Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole has slammed former manager Paolo di Canio.

Cattermole is scathing in his criticism of Di Canio's treatment.

"There were a lot of things I was disappointed with in terms of the way I was treated," said Cattermole, who twice came close to leaving during the close season.

"But I didn't lose confidence over anything he did or the fact he didn't fancy me."
