Sunderland management delighted with Ferdinand commitment to cause

Sunderland management are delighted with the commitment of Anton Ferdinand at left-back.

The England U21 centre-half has been played out of position since returning from injury.

"Anton's settled in really well at left-back and his attitude has been great," No2 Eric Black told safc.com. "He's never questioned it, he's come in and asked about opponents he's going to play against, done his homework and he deserves a lot of credit.

"He's been up against some decent players of late - none more so than against Man City where I thought he contained Shaun Wright-Phillips very well.

"He deserves credit for coming into an orthodox position and sticking at it."
