Sunderland are eyeing Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ibai Gomez.

The 26 year-old fought his way back from long-term injury to finish the season impressively for Bilbao.

Deia says Gomez, tied to a deal to 2017, has popped up on Sunderland's radar.

Meanwhile, Athletic Bilbao striker Kike Sola is set to leave Middlesbrough.

Kike joined Boro on-loan in January and is wanted by Sporting Gijon.
