Sunderland defender Michael Turner was left frustrated after defeat at West Ham United.
Turner, who enjoyed a tussle with Carlton Cole, was philosophical about the team's performance but admitted a momentary defensive lapse cost them dear.
"I think we played quite well - probably better than most of our away performances this year - but it was so disappointing to concede a goal when they didn't create a great deal," he told safc.com.
"To come off the pitch having lost is very frustrating. We failed to deal with a long ball into the box but after that we dictated the play and created the better chances.
"They are really under pressure and you could tell at times."
