Sunderland close in on Aberdeen manager McInnes

Sunderland believes they have found their new manager – Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes.

And according to reports in the Express, the Black Cats are confident of signing the Scotsman by the end of the week.

The two clubs are understood to be in disagreement over the compensation fee to be paid if McInnes is to leave Pittodrie.

The Scottish Premier League club is looking for £1.2m, while Sunderland believe a figure closer to £800,000 is fair.

McInnes has experience managing in the Championship having spent time with Bristol City.
