Sunderland boss Jack Ross is impressed by on-loan Watford striker Jerome Sinclair.

The striker has had to make do with limited opportunities at the League One club, but made the most of a rare start to score in a 2-2 draw with Peterborough this week.

“When you bring loans to the club, you have to be careful they are a good fit and a good character, Jerome has had limited opportunities but his attitude in training is brilliant," Ross told the Sunderland Echo.

“He is determined to do well here. Not just for his own career, he likes the club and I was really pleased for him.

“He is hard on himself, he was disappointed at half-time with the missed opportunity and others were good around him.

“I was just disappointed his goal was not the winner."
