Sunderland boss David Moyes is confident of getting several signings through the door in the coming days.

The Daily Mail says Moyes is confident of completing deals for Barnsley centre-back Alfie Mawson, Atletico Madrid right-back Javier Manquillo and the re-signing of former loanee Yann M'Villa in the coming days, but he concedes that funds are limited, especially when it comes to competing with Watford for £15m-rated Everton midfielder James McCarthy.

"Because we maybe have to sign several players, I don't know if we'd have that kind of cash to pay on just one player (McCarthy)," said Moyes, whose said have lost their opening two Premier League games.

"This club will attract a certain type of player and until we're in a much higher league position, only then we can attract much better."
