Sunderland boss Bruce upset with media over Houllier row portrayal

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is angry with the way the media has portrayed his row with Aston Villa rival Gerard Houllier.

Bruce is less than pleased with how he has been portrayed in the media over the last week and was pleased to set the record straight.

Bruce said: "I see all these headlines about blasts and racism, I said one thing. I said I was disappointed not to get a phone call from Gerard Houllier, that's all I said.

"I didn't question Darren Bent's loyalty I just said I was disappointed, which we all were, that's normal, but the newspapers take it, they spin out all the spin, they get their backpage headlines, now all of a sudden I'm a racist!

"There's not a better country in the world than France, I love it to bits!" Bruce joked.
