Sunderland boss Bruce no longer surprised by manager sackings

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is no longer surprised by the sackings of managers.

Four managers have already left their jobs this season, but Bruce has a sympathetic owner in Ellis Short.

“Half of management now is who you work for,” the former Manchester United defender reflected. “It’s the hardest part of the lot – and it’s becoming more difficult.

“We’re not surprised anymore as managers. And I don’t think the public are anymore. It’s difficult.”
