Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is weighing up a new striker signing.
The Daily Mail says Sunderland are interested in Freiburg striker Papiss Demba Cisse.
Blackburn Rovers made an enquiry for Cisse, 26, earlier in the summer and were willing to offer £6m only to be told the price was £12.5m.
Fulham and Tottenham have also shown interest while any Sunderland bid may depend on whether Asamoah Gyan stays at the club.
