Sunderland manager Steve Bruce said he was happy with the debut of recent signing Michael Turner.
Turner played his first match for the Black Cats against his former club Hull City and performed well, helping to contribute a goal late in the piece.
Bruce was excited about the element Turner brought to his starting line-up and is confident the 25-year old can deliver at his new home.
"He is an old fashioned centre-half who does the things a centre-back should do," Bruce said.
"He's a big header of the ball and he's got a goal for us. I think he got eight or nine last year. He's always capable."
